A big problem was that Dave Anez was getting visitors not because they'd been told the comic was funny, but because they'd been told it had Megaman in it. That's how I found it, anyway. And it was funny, too. But fans of Megaman quickly outnumbered fans of funny, and although Anez tried to keep it amusing, he simply had no way of getting helpful feedback, as a good 80% of his audience would rather see other things they were fans of incorporated into it. Somehow failing to get the entire cast of Sonic the Hedgehog introduced, they instead went after the accuracy of Anez's Megaman usage. I am not kidding when people were actually debating whether certain strips were "canon" or not. That's right, canon. Not the thing I'd have liked to shoot them with, or the company that made my broken scanner. They meant canon, as in faithfulness to and strict compliance with the plot attempts set forth by Capcom. Canon, as in something I've only ever seen used in regard to adherence to biblical scripture. Great Gimpity, Megaman as a religion. Time Travel doesn't sound so bad, now. If the job's available, I'll gladly sign on to be the official Satan.

Dr. Light wearing a sombrero would be really funny.

Yes, the Megaman clone wearing purple is the character used to represent "the author" in the one bobandgeorge.com feature actually called Bob and George. I wasn't sure if I should send this one in or not, because I thought Anez might be a Mexican name and this would be construed as offensive. Correct, I'm a moron.

I realize now that there's nothing worse than evil authors.

It was funny when Anez did it, at first, but once 28 of the 30 fancomics also had Megaman clone authors modified ever so slightly getting disobeyed by their characters, it lost its appeal.

Is that near Tennessee?

The "bold" option on the typeface I used for most of the characters' speech either didn't look good at all, or simply didn't exist, so I had to trace over all the letters individually to highlight them. The font for "Protoman," (that's the orange and grey one that isn't Megaman) despite not having a bold option, made all the capital letters really dark for some reason. I think that font is defective.
On a related note, something always seemed a bit "off" to me about those websites that try and sell individual fonts. You can't even use them on a webpage unless everyone who sees it also has the font, so why bother? And it's not like the hot new trend is "LIST OF ALL THE FONTS I OWN" like are always showing up for mP3s, r0mz and other things people don't pay for.

All the people my sister draws have eyes like that.

I didn't even know what a ran was when I made this. I kind of wish I still didn't.

I disapprove of the profanity. Meek-mok is a very dirty word.

Alright, Megaman X series characters are drawn at a different scale, so they need to be slightly enlarged to not look [more] strange alongside Megaman 7 characters. This one, called "Zero," which I guess is a fairly common and not at all derogatory name in Japan, is really big anyway. And I need to make the letters big to be readable in anything other than Arial or Times New Roman. The Final Fantasy 5 background looks out of place to a uhhh... big extent. Big big big.

I even had to make the comic itself bigger. This one is 800x240. I spent probably an hour trying to fit it into the smaller box, and it doesn't even look good in this one. If only I'd spent that much time writing the dialog...

it wouldn't improve just as much. And could it be anymore obvious that Zero's left hand in panel 3 was my doing?

This may or may not be the "Stapler Man" referred to in this comic by someone else whose fake internet name I have forgotten.

Some people are so cruel. No, that purplish thing isn't a lollipop.

Oikes. More Final Fantasy backgrounds. At least this one sort of fits...

In all honesty, I only chose that nigh-unreadable font because it was called Forte, the word which the Japanese "Bass" name translates into. Is that a good reason? No, it is not.

Also, "Atnarf" is "Franta" spelled backwards. Neither mean anything.

The first time the Bob and George message board was shut down was noteworthy for two reasons. First, I believe this was the only time it was ever done on purpose. And second, Anez stated among his reasons that he was sickened by discussion of, quote, "booblights." I decided to investigate, and it came out of a question of the purpose of the two green things Zero is emitting laser beams from here. On the advice of me, I have declined to comment further.
